The next book in Kit Ward’s London history trails series will be released in September. City of Song: A London Sixties Music Trail is a guided walk beginning in Chelsea and finishing in Soho. Along the way, the trail takes in twenty-four locations – venues, nightclubs, recording studios, and more – that are significant in the story of Sixties pop music. The Beatles, the Rolling Stones, the Kinks, Dusty Springfield and Bob Dylan all feature, as do other notable figures from the Swinging London era such as Tara Browne, Mary Quant and Brian Epstein. Each stop will also have a playlist (with YouTube links) so you can listen to the sounds of the Sixties as you walk. If you missed the Sixties the first time round, then take a journey of the imagination back to the decade that rocked the world with City of Song: A London Sixties Music Trail.
